Get involved in the Heart of England Forest BioBlitz . This morning moth survey is led by members of the BBC Ndeavor Moth Group.

Identify moths caught in light traps with the BBC Ndeavour Moth Group. Giddings Wood is one of our older areas of new woodland, flanked by younger woodlands, flower-rich grasslands and the Noleham Brook, providing varied habitats for all sorts of moth species.

This area has never been surveyed for moths previously so is filling an important gap in the map of local moth records. If you have a preferred moth identification guide, feel free to bring it along on the morning.

This survey is part of the third annual Heart of England Forest Bioblitz where we will be creating a snapshot of the variety of species found in a specific area of the Forest during a 24 hour period. No previous BioBlitz experience or species knowledge is required to get involved.

Registration for this event is free however we would appreciate it if you would be willing to make a donation to help us to grow the forest and work on creating and maintaining a mosaic of wildlife habitats.

This wildlife surveying event is not suitable for dogs to attend.
