At Wild Frogmore we have fun for all the family, with stalls from other wildlife organisations, bug hunts, creative projects for children and of course papermaking with wild flower seeds. We encourage young people to garden and encourage wildlife with potting up balcony pots and decorating bug hotels. In addition food and drink will be on offer with fine coffee and a BBQ.
A local bee keeper will be present, along with the Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust, The Chalk Stream Project & our very own bug hunter.
We will be holding an Art Auction, where you can WIN a SIGNED Chris Packham photograph (valued at £500) £10 per ticket, with runner up prizes.
An opportunity to explore the wild side of Frogmore Paper Mill. Frogmore is situated on one of the worlds most precious habitats, the Gade River chalk stream. It is part of the story of why the paper mills chose the area but it is also home to an abundant array of wildlife. Situated on an island between two branches of fresh chalk stream water, the island is alive with insects, fish, birds, and mammals. Dragonflies & damselflies patrol the waters edge, along with butterflies, hoverflies & bees. In the water we have Chub, Millers Thumb, Pike and Crayfish, often close by are the Grey Herons and Little Egrets, not to mention everybody’s favourite, the Kingfisher. Recently reintroduced, the Water Voles have moved in and Otters are occasional visitors. There are also bats and very many other insects and rare wild plants. Wild Frogmore is all about celebrating the WILD side of paper making. Nature is all around us
